MORRISVILLE, N.C. (March 26, 2015)―Each year, A Toast to the Triangle™ includes a spirited, yet friendly competition among the restaurants participating in the fundraising event benefiting the Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities. Neomonde Bakery and Deli has been recognized for the Best Entrée and Best Visual Theme by a panel of 13 judges.
“We would like to thank the entire community for all the support we have received for Tammy Lynn Center’s services,” says Holly Richard, President and CEO for the Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities. “We were proud to welcome Neomonde for the second year in a row and congratulate them on their recognition from this year’s Toast Judges.”
Judges for the event included local chefs, food writers and public figures. This is the second year in a row that Neomonde has received an award. In 2014, Neomonde received the People’s Choice Award for Best Bakery.
“We are honored to help support the Tammy Lynn Center through this event,” says Chris Saleh, vice-president of retail, Neomonde. “Like all of the participating restaurants, we bring our best each year as a thank you to attendees for their generous donations. Receiving acknowledgement from the judges is an exceptional compliment.”
A Toast to the Triangle is the signature fundraising event for the Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities. The organization provides educational, residential and family support services to nearly 400 families throughout the Triangle.
About Neomonde Bakery and Deli:
Neomonde Baking Company was founded in 1977 by four brothers who moved from Lebanon. Founded on the principal that anything the company sells must be good enough to serve their own family, the brothers based their business on what they learned tending the family’s wheat fields, harvesting grain, taking it to be ground at the town mill and, most importantly, their mother’s recipes. In 1989, the company added a deli case filled with foods prepared from family recipes using only authentic ingredients.
Today, the family-owned business operates two Mediterranean restaurant-café-markets which serve more than 750 diners daily. The commercial bakery produces more than 200 varieties of breads and pastries for about 300 wholesale clients, from Maine to Florida and as far west as Texas. The company also offers catering for Triangle-area special events and corporate functions.
About A Toast to the Triangle:
A Toast to the Triangle was first held on April 6, 1986, at Carolina Place. Approximately $6,000 was raised to build residential facilities at Tammy Lynn Center. Since then, the event has been held annually to support programs and services. The event offers an astonishing array of culinary splendor from nearly 40 of the Triangle’s finest restaurants, caterers and purveyors of fine wines and specialty beers. Attracting more than 1,000 people, the 29th annual event raised more than $211,000 for the center’s programs and services.
